This new initiative of CINDAQ is aimed at collecting and distributing baseline data pertaining to the cenotes and the underwater caves of this area. Much like the Reef Check initiative, volunteers will have the opportunity to to collect and record baseline cave data. This data will be made available to the public with the hopes of further understanding cenotes, caves and their related features.
CINDAQ is pleased to announce a new project aimed at better understanding and appreciating the importance of cenotes to the mammals of the Yucatan Peninsula. For this baseline study cameras are being installed in the entrance of remote cenotes where video and photographic images hope to catalog a wide range of animal speciels and capture their frequency and activities during cenotes visits.
