CINDAQ Cave Check program

DIR-NL divers participated in the CINDAQ Cave Check program by installing 6 depth and temperature sensors in the Mayan Blue area of the Ox Bel Ha cave system. The sensors were "adopted" by the Holland based dive club and will be retreived, downloaded and reinstalled by visiting team members over the coming years.

This important data set will be available free to scientists and the public online in contributing to a better understanding of the aquifer in the region and of caves in general.

Fundación Selva Maya and CINDAQ have partnered in better understanding and protecting the cenotes, caves and related features in the Akumal-Uxuxubi area.

Mapping and exploracion of the underwater cave systems continue and  FSM has recently adopted depth and temperature sensors adding to the broader Cindaq Cave Check program.
